it's been a long time
it has indeed been a long lonely, lonely, lonely . . . well, you get the idea and i never was much of a zeppelin fan.
I'd long since forgotten that this place existed, but i keep getting random punches in the arm questioning where my responsibilities lie and why i haven't posted in so long. you'll have to forgive me, i got married a while back and it's all been downhill ever since.
just kidding honey.
i'd actually thought about musing over the holidays and just couldn't come up with much to say. it seems as though my ability to entertain and make people giggle has increasingly slowed and now i'm afraid that posting will put you to sleep instead of into hysterics. so where to begin?
- i'm still very happily married and yes, we still have the boy. he still hasn't figure out that the cause of the ants in his room, bathroom and boxers are from the month old ice cream cup and taco from early december that's been laying on the floor. i guess he likes the smell of bug spray in the morning as Mr. Duvall did, so why mess with his happiness. he is entering month three of boxing and still loves it. his mother found a new, closer location to the house and now she's taken up lodging in the ring with him and has rediscovered that muscles ache when you use them. i'm not about to fall for this hype that if it hurts you, it makes you a better person. i'm pretty damned happy sitting on the couch with my zingers.
- i bought a new truck in december and got rid of the ever dull, reasonably priced, gas efficient Jetta i had. i'd forgotten what it was like to enjoy driving. in its group, it's the fastest (both in speed and guzzling gas) and sleekest truck of its kind. spray in bedliner, tie down clamps, towing package and a Rockford Fosgate stereo system. my Journey and Michael Bolton compilations have never sounded better. plus, and this is most important, my wife is moist over the fact that i own a truck now. how little it takes to prove that yes, i am a man.
- i'm still trying to find a good copy to use as my signon sound for my home pc.
- the dog is still alive, despite my wife's daily attempts by chucking t-bones out the third story bedroom window. Indy is still goofy and still a total idiot.
- we made it through the 2005 holidays. barely. for three solid weeks (beginning with my week long vacation), all three of us were deathly ill. i concocted bronchitis and the wife has had a sinus infection for an entire month. nothing worse than a sinus headache for a month straight. otherwise, christmas and new years were fine. no one killed anyone else despite the automatic weapons and impact wrenches we got for christmas. my in-laws are really cool...
- i'm still playing World of Warcraft. I got my first toon to 60 last week. Elysian, the night elf hunter and his pet cat, BillyDog are running instances with our guild and i've started a new NE hunter, Boswilligkeit. I did get a copy of FEAR and Age of Empires III for christmas and have bounced back and forth between the two. FEAR is a gorgeous game and is really creepy. And for those who like the Age series, you will not be disappointed with this new one. Nice graphics, solid gamplay and the scottish guy will make your wife giggle with his random comments.
- work has been busting my ass for three solid months and it's finally slowing down. two of the largest projects i've ever worked on. meh
- I'm back in physical therapy for my back and it's getting better. it's amazing what you can do with an electrical current and water. i won't be running any marathons any time soon. ok, ever. but it is getting better and that makes my life easier.
Hopefully i'll have more to say in the future.
