seventeen minutes and thirty eight seconds of balls in your face
while this may sound like a cut from brokeback mountain, this is all the real testosterone you need to make your day flow by. in an oldschool rememberance, kotaku has posted the video of quake done quick. for those that aren't familiar with this, it's the id game, quake, played from beginning to end in roughly seventeen minutes. that's the entire game. granted, they aren't killing all of the enemies in the game, but just getting from the beginning to the end in seventeen minutes. the repeated time and effort this must have taken to accomplish just boggles me today, especially for a game that's almost ten years old. if you ever played this game, this is seventeen minutes worth watching as it'll bring back some fond memories. they employ some techniques to accomplish this feat such as the bunnyhop and the rocketjump (which gamers created with this game) which is now a common term and activity in the FPS arena. i remember the first time i watched this video. you had to download a file and then load up the game itself and run it from within the game to watch these guys play QDQ.
enjoy - quake done quick
