2005

as of 8:36 am on january 3rd, the year of 2005 has gone quite well. i'm hoping the remaining 362 days go as well. i'm finally back to work after a week of being off and thoroughly enjoying it. i fucked off for a week and had the time of my life. no sickness, no back problems, no 24 hour a day family time (like on family vacations), but plenty of me time. not personal me time, just me time. i played a lot of games, started Crichton's new one, watched some tv and movies (rent a copy of Gozu if you're looking for the truly bizarre and go see The Machinist if you want to just depress yourself). What's happened in the last week?
- my sister moved back from the Pit and found a great little duplex a block south of terrelli on greenville.
- i bought a brand new video card for godcomplex (my box) and he's never been happier. neither has his owner. now to start saving for a new MB, memory and processor. maybe a little more HD space too.
- brought in the new year with a sick girlfriend but had a great time drinking champagne on her back porch and smoking a nice cigar with her. sorry Justin, i hope the party was a success. plus, i get to polish off the 2 quarts of Luna hot sauce and chips i'd bought for the party.
- i got dobra fixed up with a new set of mirrors and neck wear i received as crimmus gifts. i also removed the honda labels off the bike. she's looking a lot more like a softail every day. she's shiny and pretty and anticipating her next upgrade, which is looking like a new solo seat.
- i met the in-laws, finally. stacy took me out to meet her parents the other night and i didn't get shot. dad is a former marine and DPD undercover officer. i've been told that the girls (3 of them) never saw a second date if they came around to pick them up at the residence. apparently, dad liked to answer the door with USP (no compromise) or sawed-off shotgun in hand. yap, yap, yap, yap, yap . . . . . but it went well, the family was happy to meet me and made me feel at home.
- Bulldozr made 25 last night. Bulldozr is my dwarf hunter and after a barrage of skinning and leathercrafting and lot's of dead aligators, he jumped a lvl in less than two hours. first for me. i've never lasted in a MMO long enough to get a character that high. 35 more levels to get to 60. oh, and Maggie, his ice clawed bear (his pet) is tanking at a nice lvl 24 and as happy as can be.
- put away my first hundred bucks for the 2006 trip. this is a big one. stodgy, any, i'm there!

those are just a few highlights of the already, quickly passing year. more of my mouth to come.
