soggy, cont.

my previous post brushed on the weather and how happy i am about it being here with us. it's bothered those who were to attend the state fair this week as soggy corny dogs and watered down beer isn't that good. but, as much as i love stormy weather, it does upset me while driving. texas drivers continue to amaze me at their incompetence to drive in anything other than perfect weather. you've no doubt read my numerous posts about my agitation of driving on dallas roads with those who have no place being behind the wheel of a vehicle. these people bring out a different side of me that many have not seen. i am the epitome of road rage. not dangerously so, just to the degree that every man, woman and child on the road (as many infants carpool to work) are cursed and tormented and degraded, verbally by me in ways that you wouldn't hear satan himself react in the same situation.

so, knowing this, you'd think i'd get some type of therapy or start drinking earlier in the day, but it continues to amaze me that people just can't drive. it's rained once or twice in texas since the dawn of time and i just can't understand why people haven't figured out how to manage a moving vehicle in this type of weather. there will be accidents, there will be blinking stoplights and i accept that people need to take more time to be careful, but jesus, learn to fucking manage normally and get with the program.

in the past 3 months, since the purchase of my bike, i've enhanced my calm when behind the wheel as i know that my rage is an issue. even more so when you are on a motorcycle. people just don't see you and they just don't care. on my ride saturday, stacy and i were coming back from her sisters and she was leading. a guy in a bmw pulled out in front of stacy almost causing a wreck. it wasn't from there being cars in way impeding his view or even something as stupid as him being on a phone. he just wasn't paying attention. he was making a u-turn, so as he pulled into the lane next to us as stacy had just let up off of slamming on her breaks, i rode past him and barked at him "what the fuck is your problem? why don't you pay attention?" i startled him. he pulled in behind us so as to not have to pull up next to us at the next light. the roar of my bike didn't ease his tension either. i guess i fit that instant stereotype of being the bastard biker. i wasn't trying to be that way. what most people don't realize is that i may be that bastard, but they are still in a larger vehicle and could easily run me off the road. riding a motorcycle has taught me humility and patience. but it still doesn't make it any easier on days like this.

You faired better with Bee Emm Dubya Guy than I did with Civic Guy last week. Joey Bagodonuts had the poor sense or luck to pull into the same parking lot I was headed to. I faired a little more out of control and a little more violent. I actually told this stranger that "If you pull that stunt with me again, I'm gonna punch you in the motherfucking throat."

Classy huh? I was a little ashamed afterwards. Wait a minute. Nah. I wasn't....

yeah, very classy, but if i hit a guy on the bike, i'll probably die. you just have a higher insurance payment. small difference. but i would have liked to have seen the look on the guy's face when you said that.
