let the work begin

as any mentioned in his post, i did some work on dobra this weekend. i was suffering thru a bad back for the last 5 days or so and got the pieces in on thursday night. i started working on the upgrades on saturday and re-threw out my back again while doing it, but persisted and lived thru the pain. i changed out the back brake light and back blinkers with clear covers and added a chrome decorative piece to the break light. i also installed a chrome license plate bracket to rid myself of the ugly plastic one that came from the dealer. i was able to break out the dremel and do some metal cutting for the bracket, so it was a lot of fun. i tried to get some pics, but the batteries in my camera were dead. the man and his wife that just moved in next door to me has an indian and he pulled it out, fired it up and took it for a spin while i was working on mine, but suddenly, i was the expert about bikes as he's an attorney and i think he may have just bought the indian to say he could and probably took a driving class once. i get the idea that he's not a fanatic. beautiful bike though.

what i'm really exicted about is that come friday, i'll be ordering the last of the pieces of the front end overhaul i'll be doing in two weeks. basically, i'm replacing the stock handlebars with a set of 1.5" drag bars with a 6" rise, solid chrome grips, housings, triple tree cover, levers and clutch replacement. In all, i'm replacing 10 different pieces (all chrome) and that doesn't include some other things i'd like to do like switch to stainless steel cabling, new mirrors and front end signal replacement. but, it all takes time, and money. something that tends to be scarce at this time of the year. and since november is the biggest game release month we've had in probably the last 5 years, i'm in double trouble. so, aside from the 10 parts i'm replacing, the only other thing i plan on doing in the next month is have my shocks cut to drop the bike a good 2 inches (shown here in before and after pics) and give it that chopper look with the new front end. once i finish all of that, hopefully by the end of november, i'll post some pics.
