Random Crap

Andy Williams was right ... kind of...
i know that it's the most wonderful time of the year is meant for crimmus, but it's halloween and this truly is the best time of the year. evil, death, satanic cults - what else could cheer a guy up better than that? ok, all in movie form and trick or treating and costumes, but it's still loads better than the real silly season. people are obligated to be happy in november and december (which is probably why most are depressed as hell), but october and halloween aren't happy times. does that make me a really sick person? regardless, it's still a blast and knowing how much i love horror movies, i don't even need a reason to watch nasty, horrible, graphic stuff and have someone think i'm nuts.

living virtually in every conceivable, ridiculous detail
i know we're all pretty bored with out lives and we all dream of better lives. nicer clothes, bigger houses, more money, etc. and it looks like the second sims game has completely fulfilled that need. i saw the first sims game a couple of years back when an old roommate got hold of a warez copy and proceeded to build a women's prison with no walls around the bathroom stalls and no doors or windows. his attempt was to create the perfect women's prison drama, complete with little mario (the only man in the prison) who could come and go as he pleased waiting for nasty threesomes. instead, he ended up with a bunch of pissed off, female prisoners who wouldn't pee in front of the others and had no way to eat, so the prison looked like a bunch of really anxious dogs had been pent up there for months on end and eventually, just a bunch of dead bodies. reality? no. fun? possibly. obviously, the game did well. it spawned twelve, count em, twelve expansion packs and the sims 2 was just released. the reason i mention this is because a game about reality doesn't make sense to me. i can hardly manage my own life, why would i want to do it for a bunch of female prisoners? and it's gotten so detailed in the follow-up, that you can download hundreds of different add-ons for the second game like clothing, houses, vehicles, etc. i saw a link today to download froggy underwear. white underwear with a green frog on the front. now, why the fuck would i care about what's on my sim's underwear? do i need that much detail when i'm trying to forget my own pathetic life?

movie day!
tuesday is unequivocally the day i hate the most out of the week. more than monday even. i don't know why, but i always get run down by mac trucks helping little old ladies across the street on tuesdays. my great aunt always wins the lottery on tuesdays. and not once has she shared anything with me. i've always gotten one-legged, midget hookers with the clap, pregnant on tuesdays. it's just not my day of the week. with one exception...

movie day. tuesdays is new release day for movies, music and the latest edition 18 inch chrome dildos. that last item isn't so exciting for me, but the movie thing makes tuesdays worth baring. today is a good one as dawn of the dead is being released. the 2003 version of the film is being released. remakes, as a standard, tend to suck, not only in horror, but most other genres. and since remakes are pretty much the only thing that seem to be coming out lately, we're in for a dismal year of films. but this one was an exception and i'm excited about it. the other cool release today is the first season of 21 jump street. for those of you who were born after 1980, this probably won't ring a bell for you, but for those of us who were, this will be a treat. 21 js was about a group of cops in their early 20s who would go undercover into high schools and pose as students to bust up the drug rings and violent cults and whatever. the show defined fashion at the time and coolness was almost tangible. this is where johnny depp got his start. he and richard grieco were the reason i got both of my ears pierced.

i mentioned this to a buddy of mine this morning who was a fan as well and his comment back was the show was the reason i started hanging out at high schools when i was in my 20s. or even better stated by matthew mcconaughy in dazed and confused - that's what i love about these high school girls man. i get older, they stay the same age.
